Mitra Nadim

Dr. Nadim is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of Critical Care Nephrology at Keck Hospital of USC. She is nationally and internationally known nephrologist with expertise in the area of acute kidney injury in critically ill patients in the ICU, especially those with end-stage liver disease Over the past several years, she has co-organized several international consensus meetings that have resulted in significant contribution to the field of acute kidney injury, hepatology and liver transplantation. These include Consensus meeting on 1) Hepatorenal Syndrome, which became one of the most significant contributions to the field of liver transplantation as it re-defined HRS-AKI / AKI in patients with liver disease, 2) guidelines for simultaneous liver-kidney transplantation 3) International multidisciplinary consensus meeting on the Management of Critically Ill Patients with Cirrhosis awaiting Liver Transplantation, which has become a basis for management of this patient population, 4) Acute kidney injury in patients with Cardiac and Vascular Surgery and 5) AKI in patients with COVID-19. She is the author of more than 100 articles, reviews and book chapters.
