Yu-Cyuan Hong is an Attending Physician in the Division of Nephrology, Department of Internal Medicine, at China Medical University Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan. He received his M.D. from the School of Medicine, China Medical University, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, Chief Residency in Nephrology, and nephrology fellowship at China Medical University Hospital, where he subsequently joined the faculty as an attending physician.
Dr. Hong provides comprehensive clinical care for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis, electrolyte disorders, diabetic kidney disease, hematuria, proteinuria, and urinary tract infections. His clinical expertise includes nephrologist-performed peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion and the management of patients receiving hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. In addition to his clinical practice, he has contributed to the development of national clinical guidelines, real-world outcomes research, and clinician-designed digital health systems that have been implemented in the hospital's dialysis unit.
His research focuses on acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and clinical outcomes research using real-world data. His work has examined the risk factors and outcomes of acute kidney injury following acute myocardial infarction, including a case series study published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine (2022 Oct, 11(20):6083). His academic interests continue to center on improving kidney care through evidence-based medicine, clinical innovation, and digital health technologies.
